What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. "Similar technologies" include browser storage (such as localStorage) and comparable methods. They can be strictly necessary to operate a site, or optional (for example analytics, advertising or marketing).

How this site uses them

This website is deliberately lightweight. It sets no cookies at all, uses no analytics, advertising or marketing technologies, and loads no third-party tracking scripts, pixels, social embeds or third-party fonts. When you simply browse the site, nothing is stored on your device. The only device storage it uses is a small, first-party functional record for our newsletter, described next — written only if you choose to interact with it.

Newsletter preferences

If you subscribe to our newsletter, or if our newsletter prompt is shown to you and you dismiss it, we save a small first-party entry in your browser's local storage — for example a "subscribed" flag and a "prompt dismissed" date — so that we don't ask you again or show the prompt repeatedly. These entries are written only when you take that action, contain no personal data or tracking identifiers, are never shared, involve no third party, and are not used for analytics or advertising. They stay on your device until you clear them, and you can remove them at any time in your browser settings.

Why there is no cookie banner

Cookie banners and "accept / reject" choices exist so you can control optional technologies such as analytics and advertising. This site uses none of those, so there is nothing to accept or reject and we show no consent banner. The only device storage we use is the strictly-functional newsletter preference above, which is not tracking and needs no consent. This keeps the site simple and privacy-friendly by default.

Cookies for signed-in administrators

If you are a signed-in administrator of this website, WordPress sets a small number of functional cookies (for example to keep you logged in and remember admin screen preferences). These are never set for ordinary visitors and are not used for tracking or marketing.

Third-party technologies

This site does not load third-party cookies, tracking pixels, analytics, maps, social embeds, A/B testing, third-party fonts or advertising technologies.

Browser controls

You remain in full control of cookies and site data through your browser settings, where you can view, manage or delete anything stored by any website you visit, including this one.

If this changes in future

If we ever introduce an optional technology (such as analytics), we will describe it here with its provider and purpose, and — where the rules require it — we will ask for your consent before it runs, and give you a way to change that choice. Until then, there is nothing optional to manage.
